Dr. Nic Barcza, has a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer. Nic is an Executive Consultant to Mintek in South Africa. He was the Chairman of Mintek's wholly-owned subsidiary Mindev Pty (Ltd), until the end of 2005 and has served on a number of Boards such as Mogale Alloys (Pty) Ltd, a ferroalloy and stainless steel dust/alloy recycling operation near Johannesburg. He is a past-President and Honorary Life Fellow of the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM), chairman of the International Committee of INFACON, a Fellow of the South African Academy of Engineering and has served on several academic advisory Boards and the Council of Wits University. Nic has worked on several titaniferous magnetite projects and also advises and consults for several other companies in South Africa and abroad including Anfield Nickel Corp. (Canada) and Oriel Resources Ltd (UK) on nickel and chrome projects.
Sipho Mkhize is currently a Director at Ironveld Mining. He holds a BSc Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Natal; and MDP in General Management from Unisa (SBL) and an Honours Bachelor of Business and Administration from the University of Stellenbosch (USB). He started work at Mobil Oil Refining in Durban as a junior Engineer (1985-1989). He then worked for Alusaf Bayside Smelter (1989- 1997) as a Project Engineer, Maintenance Engineer and Production Manager. He later worked for Industrial Development Corporation (IDC; 1998-2003) as Head of Mining and Beneficiation. He was seconded to PetroSA and later became the CEO of PetroSA (2003-2010) ; the national oil company of South Africa. He has been an executive and non-executive director for various companies. He started his own investment company African Dunes Investments (Pty) Ltd and has investments in dross recycling; gold mining and other platinum exploration interests. At Ironveld he is responsible for the SLP, infrastructure and logistics studies for a magnetite project .
