Ampfa holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Metallurgical Engineering Diploma from the University of Johannesburg. He is also a qualified ISO systems (International Organisation for Standardisation) Auditor and Implementor with certificates from TUV (Middle East).

He started his career in 2008 at EVRAZ-Highveld Steel and Vanadium as a Process Metallurgist rising to Senior Metallurgist and then Section Manager. In 2016 he joined Columbus Stainless Steel as a Team Manager in the technical department and in 2017 he joined Chromium Steel, Bahrain as a Senior Metallurgist/Quality Manager.

Ampfa joined Ironveld in 2022 as a Metallurgist and is currently appointed as the company’s Group Metallurgist with responsibilities that include technical support, process optimisation and product development.
